Andrew & Betsy Wyeth Study Center

The mission of the Andrew & Betsy Wyeth Study Center is to encourage a diversity of scholarly, creative, and general audience engagement with the art of Andrew Wyeth (1917–2009) and his unique creative partnership with his wife, Betsy James Wyeth (1921–2020).

The Center was formed in 2022 as a department of the Brandywine Museum of Art and is charged with all aspects of managing the definitive 7,000-object collection of Andrew Wyeth’s work that is owned by the Wyeth Foundation for American Art. This collection, along with substantial archival holdings, is housed across two staffed research centers at the Brandywine Museum of Art and the Farnsworth Art Museum in Maine, where research visits are possible by prior appointment. On the following pages you can find more information about facets of our work.
